MANHATTAN SHIRT CO. (THE) Inc. ~ June 15, 1912, in NY Acquired business and assets of New Jersey corporation of same name; business originally established in 1867. Manufactures high-grade shirts, collars. underwear, pajamas and shirtings. Owns and operates factories in Paterson and Passaic, N.J.; Salem N.Y., Kingston, N.Y., and Poultney, V.T.; in addition leases and operates plants in Fort Edward, Albany, Plattsburgh and Poughkeepie, N.Y.; Middletown, V.T. and Lewiston, M.E. The equipment in these leased factories being owned by the company; Owns entire $3000,000 Com. and $300,000 Pfd. stock of Solway Dyeing & Textile Co., a Rhode Island corporation, owning plants equipped for dyeing, bleaching and weaving high grade shirtings, suitings and dress goods fabrics at Pawtucket, RI; the weaving mill of the later operates 500 fancy looms, having an annual capacity of over 3,9000,000 yds. of finished material.
